German Dager

     GERMAN DAGER‘s studies in classical ballet, jazz and modern dance were completed at L’École Supérieur de Danse du Quebec official school for Les Grands Ballet Canadiense in Montreal, Quebec. At York University in Toronto, and University of North Carolina School of the Arts. He had extensive training and coaching under the direction of Magda Auñon at The Magda Auñon School of Classical Ballet, home of the Fort Lauderdale Ballet Classic, in Fort Lauderdale. FL. He also trained on full scholarship at Miami Conservatory with Thomas Armour, at the Pennsylvania School of Ballet (now The Rock School for Dance Education) and the Boston School of Ballet. German danced principal roles in Don Quixote, Les Sylphides, Coppelia, Le Corsaire, Sleeping Beauty, The Nutcracker and Romeo and Juliet. In 1985, at the Southeastern Regional Ballet Festival, he was honored with a Dance Magazine scholarship and sent to New York to train with some of the most prestigious teachers in the United States.
German danced professionally with Boston Ballet, Ballet de Montreal under the artistic direction of Eddy Toussaint, Ballet Florida and was a guest dancer with Compañia Colombiana de Ballet.

 

          Mr. Dager has been teaching and coaching dancers since 1986. He has taught at Ballet Arts, International where he was the owner and Artistic Director for 15 years, at Magda Auñon School of Classical Ballet, and was the Assistant Director to The Fort Lauderdale Ballet Classique Nutcracker Ballet Production. Mr. Dager has taught at many ballet studios in South Florida including Ballet Elite, Encore Dance Theatre, Meg Segreto’s Dancer Center, Stella’s Dancers Studio, Michael’s Academy of Performing Arts and Distinction Dance and Talent. Mr. Dager has been a guest teacher and judge for Dance Masters of America, and Florida Dance Masters. He is a certified classical ballet teacher by examination, an active member of Florida Dance Masters and in the U.S. he holds the equivalent of a Bachelor of Science in Education degree with a major in Teaching Dance. Mr. Dager was featured in Dance Studio Life Magazine as Teacher in the Spotlight.


            Mr. German’s coaching has placed his students always in top placements in both classical and contemporary soloist divisions at the prestigious international Youth America Grand Prix competition, The American Dance Competition and the Universal Ballet Competition. His graduating students have been accepted into the best dance programs in the nation, they have been accepted into mayor ballet companies in America and received scholarships to prestigious summer intensives programs including the Paris Opera Ballet School, Canada’s National Ballet School. The School of American Ballet, American Ballet Theater, The Bolshoi Ballet Academy, the San Francisco Ballet, The Boston Ballet, Pacific Northwest Ballet, The Houston Ballet, The Rock School for Dance Education, Miami City Ballet, Joffrey Ballet, The Orlando Ballet, The Next Generation Ballet, Gelsey Kirkland Academy, and The Alvin Ailey Dance Theatre.


        Mr. Dager is also an ABT ® Teacher, who has successfully completed the ABT ® Training Intensive in Pre-Primary though Level 5 of the ABT ® Training Curriculum. At the prestigious 2021 Youth American Ballet Competition,Mr. German received Outstanding Teacher Award. Fort Lauderdale Youth Ballet received Outstanding School Award at the 2020 Youth American Grand Prix Semi-Finals in Tampa. His studio has also received Outstanding Professionalism Studio Award at the 2021 Shake the Ground Competition. At the 2018 prestigious Universal Ballet Competition also received The Outstanding Coach Award.
